Has anybody seen the Far Side cartoon about that song?

I second the recommendation of the Fess Williams double CD. They were playing it at this record store by my house, and I could hardly believe that the recordings were from the 20s. They sounded wonderful.

Does anyone know if this album has been released on CD? Some web site I saw seems to think that it has.

Maybe an easier first step would be to create such a database where people just rated albums. If that took off, then it could be turned into a song-by-song thing.

Yeah. I can't think of anything for sure off the top of my head (I'd look it up, but I'm in a rush), but I think he arranged "Sugar Foot Stomp," "King Porter Stomp," and "Down South Camp Meetin'."

Incidentally, I saw James Carter play this afternoon in Oakland. Man! He was amazing. He must have pushed his saxes to every limit they had. James Carter is one crazy man.
