I am not blaming Falty or Lawrence, you can find provacative statements in each of their posts. I just want to say that nothing written on this Board is worth a fist fight. If you think it is, you take things way to seriously. Hopefully, neither Falty or Lawrence are really as angry as they appear t...

somehow I find this really really funny.....you should just vary the EWF song and surprise him at the end of each night.... This guy is very specific, he wants to hear the EWF version of September song, nothing else will satisfy him. He is more vague about the salsa. He always gets turned down on t...

Yes, you are referring to Ed. He bothers every Austin DJ, same exact request, every week, like clock work. Ask Colin, Scott, Matt Jones, it is like a broken record. He comes up at the end of the dance, asks me to play September, which I usually don't have on me. Then he wants to know if I have any ...

Depends on how well his set was being recieved by the dancers. If the previous DJ was sucking it up, I may totally switches styles/tempo. To let everybody know that the DJ has changed. However, the more prevelant scenario is when the DJ is doing a decent job. In that case, I try to flow with his set...

In general I like to blend. However, there are times when I feel the need to contrast, especially if the mood needs changing. But, I don't favor that a set that changes radically every song. I can think of one set from another DJ that was up and down for two hours straight. It got to be a little ann...

Re: Old Stuff for a Modernist Crowd
The local austin discussion about George viciously brutalizing the scene inspired this topic... I know you were kidding about the "viciously brutalizing" description... Those complaints were echoed even louder the next week when a new, even more ardently-vintage DJ forced everyone to list...

[As for your complaints about the music at the Fed, you are DJing that venue tonight. Matt Jones DJs that venue, I do, Jeramie does. You are complaining about something you are a part of, whether it annoys you at times or not. For the most part, at the Fed, the room notices bad sets and treats real...
