Nathan, thanks for the reminder to post something on here about it... Yehoodi May Guest DJ-A-Thon We’re blowing the lid off of Yehoodi Radio for the month of May with the Guest DJ-A-Thon! Catch a different guest DJ every day of the week and a mix of that week’s DJs on the weekend. We’re talking musi...

I'm relistening to it right now. Pretty cool tune. Hadn't checked it out in a while.

I actually have two copies of the "Li'L Ol' Groovemaker" CD in my collection. Gotta love those occasional duplicate purchases (I'm sure we could start a whole thread about that!).

For the past few years I've been using a program called Delay Time 2.0 which seems to work just fine for me. It's freeware for the PC, and you can download it from their site.

we had a number of dj's cop attitudes when we invited them to stlbx last year...wanting their flights paid for, lodging, etc. [snip] the attitude of the "pay me, fly me, or i won't come" made me lose a lot of respect for a couple of people If your problem is with the DJs copping unnecessa...

Do you like it when the exchange organizer takes all comers, and each dj gets a single 1hr slot, or do you like a more exclusive exchange, with only 3 or 4 well-known djs, and maybe 3-4 local djs? As a DJ: I enjoy DJing longer sets. I can get into a better groove, having more time to feel the energ...

one thing remains constant, the less I want to do something, the more expensive I get. Isn't that the truth! ;) In general though... If an event is being run for profit, I believe the DJ should most definitely get paid. We put a lot of work/time/money into building our collections and develop our s...

Thanks. I had a great time DJing at LindyGroove last night. The energy of the crowd was so high, and I was just feeding off of it, swinging hard all night long. I love seeing people busting out to everything from Junior Mance's "A Smooth One" to Basie's "Every Tub" and everything...

Why was the board unavailable?

My apologies for the board being unavailable today. I was told by my ISP that they were having problems with some of their servers today. Everything seems to be fixed now.

Carry on.

Agreed. I've never heard of anyone storing their records flat, one on top of another. I can't imagine that method of storage being all that good for the records. I have a lot of serious record collecting friends, and they all store them upright, myself included. As for CDs, I doubt it matters either...

Over the past two years I've been slowly burning all of my original CDs to mixes organized by artist, picking out all songs that I might play at a dance. For many years I just carried around the originals until I got to the point where I had too many CDs that I wanted to carry with me. Combined with...

Phil, thanks for the tip. I'll have to pick up that album as I am digging the samples on the site. That also sounds like an amazing concert. I'm jealous that you got to go to it. I wish it would make it out here to the west coast. Great thread all around. I'll post some of my recent finds when I hav...

There are no overlap on the compilations as far as I have seen. I have 9 of the sets as they were going for $5/set at Amoeba recently in the clearance section (also it was "buy 4, get 1 free"). Are there more than that? I'm personally not overwhelmed by the energy on some of the recordings...
