Entry level: http://www.zzounds.com/item--GMNPS121X Low level: http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHVMX100USB (has a USB input!) Thanks. I like entry level. We could upgrade in the future. Though I see these don't have XLR inputs. Would there be any added benefit to having an XLR input for the mic or is...

simple Mixer suggestions?

Looks like there are a lot of mixers available out there to choose from. We would like something small/portable to be able to plug 2 laptops and a microphone (XLR) into that can output to a 250 watt PA. We'd like to be able to use the mic as the music is playing of course. Anyone have any affordable...

not quite

Well, I think I jumped the gun. It definitely has some similar parts, but no, it's not the song. Perhaps the Big Apple routine would fit to it though.

Found the Song by Accident

Total luck. I had just recently bought Solomon's "Big Apple Contest" song on iTunes and had the previous day imported a Slim Gaillard CD I received as a gift. I was just listening to the songs I'd recently imported in order and right after I finished listening to Solomon's rendition, I tho...

Re: Who does a song called "Uselessly Fast"?

What lead you to believe that that was the title of the song and not someone's categorization / description? I probably wasn't paying 100% attention, though I spoke to Doug on the phone on Friday and he said that he introduced it as "Uselessly Fast". He did confirm that he believed it was...

Probably, but I'm sure I didn't buy the DVD that year. I'm not even sure which year it was. I'm going to guess 2005. Oh wait, I just realized I know who the DJ was: Doug Elrath. I'm going to shoot him an email.

Are you sure about the song title? Well, I'm fairly sure I remember what the DJ said because it made an impression on me, but I have no idea whether his music was annotated correctly. I have a vague recollection that he didn't know who it was by, so now that I think about it, I'll bet the title is ...

[Answered] Bugle Call Rag, Glenn Miller

I was in a fast Balboa Competition once at Balboa Rendezvous a few years back. For the last song, the DJ played a tune called "Uselessly Fast". Does anyone know who it's by? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks,
Rob

Ion

Actually, I compared the Ion with other speakers at Guitar Center maybe 2 weeks ago and decided the sound quality of the Ion wasn't suitable for my standards. The bass didn't hold up at higher volumes and the treble occasionally sounded tinny. When cranked up all the way, I worried it wouldn't be lo...

ion?

Hi, I've been looking into speakers for a dance of around 50-100 people. I looked into the Fender Passport because I've seen those in use elsewhere. But I've heard the audio quality is better with other systems. Someone I spoke to this weekend recommended either the Ion (Ion Audio iPA03 Portable PA ...

I ran across my own post the other day and took another stab at locating this song. I found a sample: http://sg1.allmusic.com/cg/smp.dll?link=p5umv2tvosm8qpjyyuuuz2o&z=spun&r=64.asx I had some trouble playing it, but after rooting through some source code, I was able to find the link to the ...

big band version of "all shook up"

I heard an awesome big band version of Elvis's "all shook up" on the radio tonight. The singer was so-so, but the band was hoppin'. Anyone know the name of the group/singer so I can locate this song? It'd be great to bal to.

Thanks,
Rob

Boy, my memory was bad. I found the song title/artist:

Sugar Chile Robinson - Go Boy Go

Anyone know if the rest of the song is as good as the small clip in the ad?

Dockers Commercial

What's the song that's been playing in the new dockers commercial? Is that "Bye Bye Love"? Who does that version?
