I couldn't find anything on their site that mentioned specific terms of personal/public use. Does anyone know if, from a legal standpoint, I could DJ stuff that I download from the iTunes store? I remember that, with eMusic, we couldn't.

I have a song in Russian on a CD called "Django Festival: Gypsy Swing Today Vol. 2." If memory serves, it doesn't really swing. But that CD is full of tons of great European jazz musicians. A lot of the CD is swing, but a lot is also Latin.

It's no secert that Sinatra admired Billie Holiday and tried to ape her style of singing. So I highly recomend Songs for Distingué Lovers . It is one of my all time favorite albums. -Kevin Great cd. It's also included in the compilation _All Of Me_. All the tracks are also on All or Nothing At All ...

Hmm. I like it, though to be honest, I think I like the Basie version even more.

Thanks for the sample!

The only times that an apostrophe is EVER used in the English language are when forming a contraction ("is not" --> "isn't") and when showing possession ("John's music"). It is never used to form a plural ("DJ's"), nor is it used when conjugating verbs ("...

I also really like "Piano Man" from the Hines '37-'39 - it violates Reuben's no vocal rule: "he's a Buddha big and cool.....Swing it Fatha Hines" If I'm not mistaken, that line sounds to me like it's actually saying something about Boola. Apparently, "Boola" was a name...

I know it sounds like one of those dubious "fun facts" that get passed around in email forwards, but the German language really does have a word for a song that gets stuck in your head. It's "Ohrwurm," which literally means "ear-worm," just like in Swifty's article.
