Is the Lake Austin branch of the County Line the one that's on the river?

That is a tight song. I have the Charley Barnet version (which is entitled "Emperor Jones").

Ha. We used to get weebles for selling magazines back in middle school. If you had an intermediate-level weeble, you could go to an ice cream party. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. This site has lyrics from "Black Bottom" with what are presumably synonymous terms (for the benifit of tap...

I remember the Fed! I went there ages ago, back in 1999. Hopefully I'll be in Austin on a Thursday (we're driving all over the place).

The County Line Texas BBQ is one of my favorite restaurants. Can't wait to go there in August when I visit the family...

I think Duke also recorded a Washington Wobble sometime around 1930, but unfortunately, I don't know what a wobble is either.

Maybe it's related to Shim-Me-Sha-Wabble?

I'm a big fan of Jelly Roll Morton's "Doctor Jazz." If I remember correctly, it's the only recording on which Morton sings a vocal.

Incidentally, DoctorJazz was my handle on Xbox Live back when I had an Xbox. Ha.

I like 1925-1937 on Chrono[lo]gical for Willie the Lion. Especially the awesome washboard sound.

Speaking of movies, this movie is apparently going to have guitarist John Jorgenson playing the role of Django Reinhardt.

On a few of the tracks it actually sounds like the record is intentionally slowed down temporarily and then allowed to speed back up -- messing with the pitch. I think there are better ...

I like Past Perfect. I have about 36 CDs of theirs, all of which have good sound quality and good liner notes. What bothers me about this outfit is that they are beating the pants off of most imports. How do they keep the proces so low without quality suffering? Maybe because of the different copyr...
