I like Past Perfect. I have about 36 CDs of theirs, all of which have good sound quality and good liner notes.

Djangofest SF June 11-13

There's apparently a Django festival in San Francisco (well, Redwood City) on June 11-13. It looks pretty cool.

I think that the Eddie Condon set "The Classic Sessions" has a lot of MCBB on the first disc.

Matthew wrote:"I've Found a New Baby" - Basie, from The Golden Years, Vol. 3. It's about 315 BPM, it's got a Lester Young solo in the middle, and it's got that barreling rhythm-section. I like the song anyway, and this version is like a fireworks display.
I think I know the version you mean. It's pretty rad.

Jimmy Rosenberg and Bireli Lagrene are some good guitarists in the Reinhardt vein.

I've had nothing but good experience with Past Perfect. I think I have 31(!) CDs off their label, and they all have great sound quality.

Rad live music all the time. Awesome music stores. Cajun food. And it's in the South. What more could you want in a city?

Even though I've only been to the NO airport and never the city itself, I want to live there.
