1. It's all been said
2. CEO of a high-tech startup. I clean the toilets, buy the bagels, wonder if & when I'll ever get a paycheck.

Indeed. It's a good thing you didn't recommend me. I was into Celtic music at that time. Would'da made 'em do clogging all night long.

Ya. If ya don't know better it kinda looks that way don't it. I thought I'd take a few lessons in sheepatude from Kyle. Help me with that seeming attitude problem.

Re: DJ Bios

...It's always beyond me that something I write about myself makes any difference to someone coming to an event. .... Maybe not, but be careful what you say. After a local promoter complained about my song choices, I prepared a new bio. I got fired: "DJ Doug here. I am partial to hard driving ...

Playing ABBA, or the Village People, to clear the room is ceratinly a LOT nicer than just standing up and ordering everyone out of the room. I have seen that happen and it is not a terribly friendly feeling to be simply told to leave. Crap for music is much better.

I find that compressing - to the point of nearly flattening - the dynamic range of many &qu...

Billy May is SO Wonderful for swing dance that I've NEVER played any of stuff at a dance despite owning a number of his CDs. All gifts from my mom who knew I liked swing music. If I had actually paid for them I probably shove a hot poker up my butt and hope it put some sense into my head.

Bob - Don't get down on them for dancing Balboa is a good first step! 1. Balboa is a real swing dance - in fact it may be the FIRST dance refered to as swing dance. 2. That they do this lets you play up tempo music without clearing the floor 3. Uptempo Bal teaches people to move their feet! My danci...

http://www.id3.org/implement.html lists and liks to "all" the programs that work with id3 tags. I rip my CDs, use Tag & Rename to adjust tags and export them to a csv file. T&R will also easily in batch mode rename files for you based on the id3 tag data and will find the tags of a...

If FLAC is truely lossless, I'm not sure how much it helps. At some point I looked into archiving my .wavs using zip or one of the other lossess compressors. It didn't help much. To get some numbers I just chose a set of 27 wav files I had on my computer and both zipped them and used lame with comma...
