Music Rights
I'm working on a project that is to document Lindy Hop and the preservation of the aspect of American culture. (Terry Monaghan is also involved in this). So far the projects has alot of clips of interviews w/ Frankie, Dawn, Sugar...etc, there are also alot of current dance clips but there's no music...

Sexy/Naughty Music
I have been asked by a friend to DJ for her friend's lingere' shower. So, I thought it'd be cool to have some Naughty songs, doesn't matter if it's the title or lyrics. I was going to do a slide show later w/ the songs & the pictures from the party. Other than songs from Risque Rhythm, any other...

I got one to add. More than 2 requests in an hour, of which only 2 were really for Swing songs. I had one request of a Salsa song at a Swing event, when if you walk out of the venue there's 5 Salsa clubs in 1 mile radius. 2 Funky songs (which to them are current top 40), Platypus as my witness. Tota...

Pottery Barns Kids, have couple of really good kids jazz collection. You can't get them online anymore, have to go to the store and see what's left. Or your friendly eBay. (Let's Play, Play Time) Platypus is right, it's about 5 years ago we did the kids theme. That was fun. Here's a few I still love...

See, if it's truly a 'Jam' situation, I would be happy to comply. But then the issue goes back to the people can't run if they can't walk. Plus as Platypus mentioned earlier, the top tier of dancers moved away for school and what not, so it became more of a rare occurrance. I think it is not until p...

Oh by no means does it reflect anything in regards to Lindyfest, nor I am in anyway 'shape' the scene. But yes, definitely frustrated that there are good songs to be danced to and people are afraid to cross the bpm threshold. Seriously thou, it's more of a question(s) of 1, if other cities' newbies ...

Niiice Rueben. Yes Matt, I'm talking about the Lindy newbie, sorry I should've clarified that. If you do want to get beginners dancing to faster songs, one trick it to play a high energy song like “Tain’t what you do” by Jimmie Lunceford, which off memory is about 170+/-BPM. Then a few songs later o...

Newbies in your scene
Hi, I guess this is close to what Trev was talking earlier about the 135 Zone, but in 2 main parts. I was wondering about what bpm range and if you'd noticed the newbies like a certain type of songs (i.e. instrumental vs. vocals). Several of us 'veterans' were saying that when we first learned to da...
