Sorry, I'm not sure if I've mentioned this in this thread before, but there's also Disco, another Shareware DJ solution for the Mac: http://www.discosw.net/disco/index.html I'm taking another look at it after not having seen it for a few versions. It does support full playlists, and has BPM calculat...

Re: CuePhase

I just found CuePhase, a Mac app for DJing which seems to me to be perfect for how I would like to laptop-DJ swing music. I don't care one bit about beat matching or any other fance stuff. What I want, and that CuePhase gives me is .... David, I've taken a look at this interesting app. Thanks for p...

Nice one Nate. Yesterday I went to eMusic to cancel my subscription. It's not that I don't think it's reasonable value, but two factors got me annoyed: 1. I don't ever seem to be able to get the time to go through enough tracks to pick 65 in a month. 2. An increasing number of albums are not license...

No. Unfortunately at this point in time iTunes doesn't provide a way to select a second output device for previewing (apart from using Airtunes). You select the sound output from the Sound control panel in System preferences. I've been hoping they'll put an output device selector in iTunes for a whi...

Hey GemZombie, does that mean you cats have 80 second minutes in the US? No wonder I need a BPM counter!

Hey jmatthew, I think your post is mostly right, but I have to correct one thing.

The B phrase is usually referred to as The Bridge in standard AABA song form structures.

Yeah, I'm a born again eMusic subscriber (subscribed, unsubscribed, subscribed again) and I've found the service to be useful to fill out my collection in new ways. I find that eMusic has a lot of small label stuff that's hard to find. You can also use it to sample a lot more music more quickly than...

Well, I don't think anyone would be trying to say that A Swingin' Safari was meant to be taken seriously as a jazz work, would they?

It's all cheese, and should be taken that way. It would only take about 3 plays a year to start annoying people.

I've played A Swingin' Safari for years with great effect. You have to be in a particularly silly mood to play it, of course, as it's pure cheese all the way down. But it swings, for sure.

Well see here's the kicker, my school does pay ASCAP fees every year -- more than enough to cover it. We want to do everything legally. It just seems that it's not possible at the moment (if you want to use up to date technology at least).

I can't talk about the rules in the US but here in Australia the copying of music what so ever, in any form is illegal. So that means that even MP3 players are braking the law. In order to be “legal” you would have to buy all you mp3's in an mp3 format off the web, and when you transfer it to your ...
