Actually, I found some great songs on youtube from DCLX 2011. I ripped the audio off of Jonathan Stout's "Flying Home" (ironically) and it worked really well, particularly for a final.

Here it is:

Toon Town Dave wrote:turin, what sort of tempo are you looking for? From your math I'm guessing something in the 180-240-ish range.
Yeah, that's about right. Probably closer to 180 than 240, honestly.

Looking for some LONG competition songs.

Hey all, I'm DJing a Lindy Hop competition in a few weeks, and the organizer wants their finals to be chorus and a half for each couple. With that times 7 couples, that comes out to be something like 11 choruses for one song, which could be anywhere from 6-8 minutes long. Have any of you fou...

Looking for Romance

Hey DJs, I've been asked to DJ a wedding in which they want romantic swing songs which are still danceable. Sad to say, I've never Dj'ed more than one or two, and I'm looking for some ideas. Because it's a wedding, I'm expecting to need a wide range of styles and danceable-ness. A few examples of wh...

Was it played from the Pink City Balboa Festival some years ago?
If so, I think Marcus and Baerble were selling a CD that had that track on it.

Longer Jam Songs.

Hey event DJs, So I've noticed lately that a lot of jams have been trending toward having one rather long song rather than several shorter songs, especially to live music. Which I think is cool, it really gets the dancers connected to the groove of the song, to the other dancers, and to the crowd. C...

First time advice

So I've been DJing for about four years now, but only local gigs, weekly dances, and some workshops. A few days ago I was invited to DJ at LOTR in Denver, which is awesome. I haven't ever DJed such a big event before, so I was just looking for some advice about things to expect, maybe some of the ma...

DJ Reference

I wasn't entirely sure where to place this topic, but since it's about whether or not good music will be played, I figured here. I recieved a request from a DJ from up North named Richard Basi to play an upcoming event I'm running. I haven't heard of him, so I was wondering if anyone here has, and i...
