[Answered] The Blues-A, Artie Shaw

So I have this song that somehow got renamed Digga Digga Doo by Artie Shaw, but I can't figure out who it actually is and what the song is called.

Any ideas out there?

Any Set lists from ULHS2007

I had a friggin' blast at Showdown and loved the DJ'd music as much as the bands, but I was really bad about asking the DJs what they were spinning.

I'm eager to expand my collection since showdown. Would any of the DJs from Showdown be willing to post set lists? Kelly? Ruben?

Thanks a ton!

Harlem Joys CD - worth picking up?

Ran across this just now:

It's called Harlem Joys. Looks like it may have some good stuff on it, but I'm at work and can't listen to any of the samples. Anyone out there know if its worth picking up?

Kelly's show was fabulous. Heard a ton of things I really liked but had never heard anywhere. Soo good.

Wedding Songs

So I just recently got engaged, and we really want our 1st dance to be to a swing tune (we've both been dancing for about 6 years), but I really don't have any good songs for this kind of thing. Anyone out there have ideas for great songs for a Wedding 1st dance. Some ideas so far: Jitterbug Waltz -...

Playing all live tunes with lots of applause at the end, and then letting the applause go too long so it feels like the crowd is actually enjoying your set. Ditto on the Talking to much, and trying to be funny the whole time, and never realizing that your not funny. at all. Playing On Top of Old Smo...

finally found it. After a ton of googling, and an email from Steven I found the album.

Marie Knight, Hallelujah What A Song!
the tune itself is called "Satisfied with Jesus"

Now I just gotta find it locally so I can have it now! :)

This is actually a different one than SONH. That was Take it to Jesus, a gospel song. This one is a spiritual called Satisfied by(or with) Jesus. much faster, older, and completely different feel.

Steven Mitchell has been teaching a new jazz routine lately to a great old spiritual called "Satisfied with Jesus" I've no idea who the artist is or how to get a hold of the song. Any one out there have any ideas?

Favorite Mid-range Classic Swing

I DJ regularly in Austin, and bluesy swing reigns supreme. I like bluesy swing, and dj a lot of it, but I would really like to build up my classic swing repertoire. The problem with Austin, though, is a general lack of fast dancing skillz. So my question: what are some of your favorite mid-range (be...
