Re: Limited Time Amazon.com MP3 Deals

Today through Monday (Friday 10/3/08 through 10/6/08) The Friday Five includes the new Willie Nelson and Wynton Marsalis CD priced at $5. I actually own it, there are some danceable tracks on it. It is also discussed in Jesse Miner's podcast this week. I stumbled across that album a while back. The...

hahaha, I gotta find that routine somewhere -- it sounds amazingly awful. no, the clip he has is a couple dancing to a pop-jazzy version of the spiderman song that sounds like what you'd get if Michael Buble did sing, sing, sing with a zoot suit on. Haha, that sounds almost as bad as the ALHC routi...

Same holds for the clips, too. Showing people without any previous dancing knowledge Hellzapoppin doesn't work too well. To them it will just be an old movie with crazy people hopping around in an uncoordinated way (unless they've been dancing themselves a lot). At most they'll laught at it, but it...

Why not start with the good movies first? If anything this only illustrates why the crap is popular. As much as I rail on it, I completely understand why people use it. To expand upon your analogy, when you're new to movies you'd much rather watch Ace Ventura then Laurence of Arabia. As your taste ...

I tossed around the idea of doing a yehoodi radio show where I'd play one swing/jazz song from each year, starting in the late twenties and ending 2008, so 80 songs. I passed on this idea after thinking about the 80s. haha Falty could lend you his Wolverines Big Band cd, I think it was recorded in ...

Cool idea for a battle. I have a playlist that pulls by decade. Sometimes i'll listen to itunes by decade. haha, that's how I have my genre's set up in itunes so I can do exactly that. Every Jazz tune I have from a particular decade goes in a bucket: 20's Jazz, 30's Jazz, 40's Jazz and so on. When ...

Peter and I once did a "battle" where we each did a song from a year then worked our way up. I think we started in 1928 and made it to the mid 40's.

All of Me , Rose Room, Body and Soul... I wouldn't even think of playing James doing these numbers. Since we're on the topic of favorite versions of standards...[ All of Me ] Fast is Harry James' from '44 @ around 190. Hey Reuben, any change of heart about Harry James in the time between these post...

There is a song from Conker, "Windy," that I've played a few times.

There is another song from that game that I've been tempted to play, but I'm just not that crass.

that's a mid-tempo something alright..... :?: I try to keep this simple. "Neo-Swing" is generally viewed as crappy music among most "Swing DJs," and, aside from a few newbies, the general Lindy community as well. Hence, it's not played often, and when it is it's usually does so ...

That and the fact that we can't dance 240+ all night... at least not any more. haha
