There is a song called "Dixie" by Harmonium. It has a Dixieland feel and it's good for Lindy, Charleston & Bal. Harmonium is a Quebec Rock band from the 1970's. Most of their music songs use the acoustic guitar and the piano. In Dixie, a clarinet is also used. This is a link to "L...

Jerry_Jelinek thats really cool and simple. It's a shame iTalk (add on to iPod) only records in mono, other wise you could do a simular trick on it. Brian If you use two iPods placed in two different sections of the room, you'd have two tracks you could combine into a stereo recording. Synchronizin...

http://winavi.com I bought this product, I mostly use to convert .AVI to .MPG but it can handle WMV files. I'm not familiar with the size of the screen that an ipod can display, you may have to lower the number of vertical and horizontal pixels of the screen in your conversion for it to be displayed...

There's the "Blue Stars" of France. They recorded a french version of "Lullaby of Birdland". (I'd use it more for Foxtrot though).

I heard them live at the Montreal Jazz Festival about 3 years ago. They not only played some Lindy Friendly songs but some Cha Cha songs too. Some friends and I had fun dancing outside to their music.

There is a song called "Stone Cold Dead in the Market" that has been recorded by various artists including Ella Fitzgerald. The song is a Mambo. If you use the Ella version, it shouldn't feel to badly out of place for a non-swing song. Also: Who Put the Ungh in the Mambo - Treniers - Those...

I noticed that with the iTunes software (on a pc), after a song has played, it will play the next song. Is there a way to configure it to play a song and then stop ? Kind of like the "auto-stop" on a CD player ? Some of my songs don't have a great deal of silence at the end. I like that th...

I don't have that clip scanned. It is on a VCR tape. I'm in the process of transferring my VCR dance stuff to DVD. The old clips are trickier because there are lines that sometimes appear on the clips and that causes the device I'm using to record them on my hard disk to crash.

That's one theory however I think Fox-trot as we know it today is based on the Castles work. From what I've read, they were responsible for sanitizing and teaching a number of the "animal dances" to the upper class white audience. I've actually an old black and white video clip of the Cas...
