Need a new internal sound card

I have a Toshiba Satellite, and the sound card in it is pretty bad (I've noticed a difference in swing and non-swing music). I've added a Soundblaster X-Fi Go Pro! external sound card, and I'm still not getting the sound quality I would like. I'm debating either getting a new laptop or just upgradin...

*OPEN* Big Band Crazy actual artist(s)?

I have a CD that a friend loaned me a while back (2002) to add to my library. Unfortunately, this was before I started paying attention to things like who was actually making the music and just grabbing any tracks I could. The CD is TERRIBLE, because it adds a .midi drum machine boom-chick over top ...

I was in DC for an event a while back (March 2011), and they totally played 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go' in the Spanish Ballroom on a band break in a non-ironic way. It was a major event, but the organizers weren't really on point for appealing to the more knowledgeable dancers. I think the worst r...

Recently asked a stupid question and was directed here. In the course of my personal searching, I found CDBaby, and they actually have a subgenre of Gypsy Jazz. There's some digging involved, and not all of it is useful for us as DJs, but I did find a few gems in there.

I like the idea for scanning, I typically include solos in my personal notes (I used to play in some jazz groups in college). I like some styles that certain instrumentalists play (Bunny Berrigan is a personal favorite), and I like to hear how some artists solo with different ensembles. I think I'm ...

A new favorite of mine is 'Undecided' by Ella Fitzgerald from the Live at the Savoy album, because at the end it's got a radio style announcement stating that that's it for the night. I don't use it always, but it's fun when I start using Tommy Dorsey's 'Dry Bones or Artie Shaw's 'Man from Mars' sin...

Gypsy Jazz

I've been a swing DJ for a while and trying to better classify my music as I improve my craft, and I'm looking to add more Gypsy Jazz style music to my library. I've got some, but I'd love some input on good places to look. Any and all suggestions are welcome, and thanks for the assistance in advance!
