If a floor is too crowded, how would you clear it - and how would you get people back on the floor? Clearing the floor is generally not a ...

On a more general note, how many people here would be interested in a night of "worse lindy hop music" if that implied bad music and not just music not so appropriate for lindy hop?

Brenda - Hamp, Lucky Millinder, McShann, Lunceford, Wingy Manone, & Bunny Berigan I think are all pre-'44. But I'd have to double-check. Not being defensive, just putting it out there. Not necessarily a "Big Band" sound though - you're right - it's an interesting observation that I'll...

Since it appears you have a receiver and devices to play the media you want to convert, then the easiest solution is to send a line out to your computer and use software to capture the input. I have used Audacity to convert tapes and vinyl and it was pretty easy and free. There are other software th...

My favorite is "Frankie's Flat" from the 1998 John Anson Ford Amphitheatre concert featuring an 89 year old Lionel Hampton, still swingin'! There's no sample on allmusic but the track is on iTunes. How's the rest of the album? Nice line up of performers. I have a version of this off the a...
