I'm very happy with Audacity, thanks, all.

Hmmm. I got bored with dancing and djing and the music so I stopped doing as much of it and started doing other things (like family stuff and geocaching and buying non-swing CDs). But now when I do go dancing, or when I dig out one of my old compilation swing CDs or a nice Basie CD, I'm totally into...

OK folks, I haven't posted for a while, but I'm in the market for a music editing program for the PC. And I thought the Swing DJs forum was a good place to ask. I was very happy with my Cool Edit Pro but it went away with my old PC. Its replacement, Adobe Audition, is $300+ and the new version of it...

I'm sure your new CD will be as excellent as your previous ones--which were great.

Just thought I'd check in on the Swing DJs forum after so long away, and of course the same discussions are going on! That's OK. I did a lot of editing of songs a few years back, and man did I work hard to get them to sound seamless. They sound great! The software I used isn't available anymore. Hmm...

Well, perhaps it is a bit early for that song in that context.

New Orleans tribute songs

Tough times in New Orleans. Here's my list of songs for a compilation so far: When I Die You Better Second Line - Kermit Ruffins (138)(rjbedit) Wake Up Nessie - Kermit Ruffins (135) Wade in the Water - Eva Cassidy (114) I'd Rather Drink Muddy Water - Lou Rawls (131) Moaning - Karrin Allyson (113)(rj...

It probably doesn't make me a better dj overall, but like others said, I have more fun. It does have a few unintended advantages. I'm more friendly to people who request "Mei Bei Bist Du Schoen". And occasionally I cue up the wrong song, which can be good, as when I then play a song I have...

Speaking of Casey McGill, why don't they put out another album? It really was well-done modern pop swing. The songs got overplayed because they were well-done and catchy.

I haven't read the swing DJs forum for a couple months but I come back and it's the same thing. A guy asks a simple question and the usual reactionary ones jump in with the same tired "don't polute Lindy Hop" drivel. Don't you guys ever get tired of espousing the same tired old arguments? ...

Same as you Roy. If there are a few people in the room that like it faster or more classic, I'll change my set a bit.

I just ordered it, and I'm looking forward to listening to it. I can't wait to get a CD of songs compiled by Lindy DJs, songs I mostly don't have, songs that have been edited for danceability. (Even though I don't DJ much anymore.)
