This CD is really quite good. Glad I picked up a copy. Not just the standard fare, there is some really well thought out selections and some real emotion in the music on here. Well done

You can do the same thing at home with a soft cloth and some toothpaste... it works very well... needs to not be gritty though... You can also use micromesh pads.. http://www.sisweb.com/micromesh/mmr_pads.htm There is also an interesting discussion at http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?sh...

IMBD says this: Original Music by Bob Cole (song) (as Cole) Herbert Goodwin (song) Rosamond Johnson (songs) (as J. Rosamond Johnson) Lee Norman James Weldon (song) But most of these people seem to be classical musicians... I asked Frankie about it, he says he doesn't remember. This is from Savoy Sty...

The Sweet Music
So the other night, toward the beginning of the evening, I play Guy Lombardo, Pennies from Heaven. Nothing I play often, just a nice little tune, easy for beginning dancers, early birds and the like. Some older fellow (like 70-something) comes over and says he loves "sweet music", like the...

Post Groove songs, is your city de-groovifying?
So I don't know how many of you can relate to this, but here in Denver, we've run a very popular Tuesday groove night (225 people/night average) for many years... Thats well and good, and I enjoy spinning for them and I enjoy the social atmosphere. But as more and more people here are travelling, th...

Tha value of a DJ's time
So most of us here have spent a lot of time shopping for CDs, practicing the craft of DJing (flowing sets, making choices that make sense for the crowd, etc) We learn about the artists, the history, the dance all at least in part to make uys better DJs. Every hour we log in the booth increases the p...

Songs that will always have meaning for you...
I was thinking about this the other day, and it made me DJ a little bit differently... I played some stuff I hadn't in a while, and it brought some life back to my venue. Thinking about how one day, perhaps you won't be a dancer/dj anymore. What songs would bring back memories of the time when you w...

I bet it was Shag by Tommy Ladnier and Sidney Bechet.... While I might call it scatting, I wouldn't go so far as to say yodelling though. He may have heard it at the Denver Exchange where I played it in the fast room. I think it was mathew who recommended the song to me... I ordered the CD, waited f...
