Hi K,
I got the ion usb turntable from Best Buy (of all places) and I think it did a good job on the vinyl that I converted. I would be interested in opinions on this one and others. The only down side that I forsee with the ion is that it only does 33 1/3 and 45's not 78rpm

USB Turntable

On a whim I picked up a USB turntable last weekend and was pleased with the final product. A friend of mine sent me a box of CDs and a few vinyl albums. Included was a 3 record set of Frank Teschemacher from the Time-Life Giants of Jazz series. Pretty good clarinetist who worked with Eddie Condon, M...

I would want to see (in no particular order) Barbara Morrison, Mora's Modern Rhythmists, Bill Elliott or The Outcast Jazz Band.
Just my 2 cents,

That's another announcement that we regularly make, "buy a beverage and remember to tip your bartender". We also make announcements for drink specials, other up-coming events at the venue.

Gunning for tips makes it seem like you ARE in it for the money MUCH more than if you charged at the door like everyone else does: lots of creative juices flowing to go against the grain. And it only looks worse when you brag about how effective they are. I've got to disagree with you Lawrence, If ...

Ok, I'm going to weigh in on this because it's the venue where I'm the DJ coordinator and primary DJ for the last three years. At this venue the owner would rather not charge a cover so we started using a tip the DJ method. We average between 50 to 100 dancers a Thursday night and figured if each pe...

I've bought CDs from this guy before. Very good selection (I got several Classics Mills Blue Rhythm Band CDs from him)and fast shipping considering that he's in Australia. Shipping is pricey tho.
Thanks for the heads up,

I sometimes close with "You Can Leave Your Hat On" Joe Cocker's version. I preface it with the comment "I'll leave you with a love song".

It sure sounds like Peggy Lee to me.
My Peggy Lee version comes from "THe Best of Peggy Lee, The Capitol Years" and it's very similar, even down to the bongos.
