I use a 10" tablet and it is a little small most of the time. I would prefer something larger and am looking at a 12" HP Tablet. Also the processor speed is a bit anemic on the EEE. It will probably do what you want but maybe not as fast you would like. I have a friend who DJs WCS on a Samsung UMPC ...

Martin, I know you have already gotten your equipment, but one thing to consider is having a seperate external mixer for a band and then passing that thru your smaller everyday mixer. I don't know about you but we have very few bands that we need to provide for and lugging anything around when you d...

Oh, now that product might be just what I have been looking for. I have been wanting a remote solution for my laptop for a while so that I can teach and not have to run back and forth to the DJ booth or PA to control a song. hmmmmmm..... I wish it was an RF remote.

I have just started playing with JRMC and I must be doing something wrong on the BPM detection. It will rarely go above 160bpm (yes, I do have music above 160 BPM) , the fastest it detected any song was 171 BPM. In general the problem seems to be that it cuts the BPM in ~half. But I did see a versio...

One night I made an effort to make little comments between songs about who the artist is, the era that is was recorded, etc. Little things to 'educate' the dancers, since I feel most dancers have no clue as to who they are listening to. I got quite a bit of positive feedback from the dancers, but I ...

Great Great info guys. I will definitely look for a few of those recordings. I didn't even really think of trying to find big band recordings. But I can understand how if mic'd recorded and mastered correctly, it would be amazing. And Paul I may take you up on your offer... Anyone have any trio/quar...

I also make a backup of my laptop drive occasionally to an external drive so if I did have to recover I could just resore the backup copy not pick and choose again from the master set. With the price of disk drives now days, what's 30-40 GB of duplicate files???

I keep all of my complete CDs on my big hard drives at home and only keep a subest of stuff I might actually Dj on my laptop. That way I can keep it to a managable number of songs. Even at that i still have ~4000 songs on my laptop.
