I wish I had more of an opportunity to put some of this good advice to use. Unfortunately, we don't have many live bands at our dances. Only for special events.

What do you listen for when you're selecting songs for swing rueda? I'd probably avoid vocals, and would want something at a tempo that the dancer with the least rueda experience could handle. I guess depending on the level of the dancers in any scene, dancing to some of the songs would be a challenge. It all depends on the environment. Besides, what else would you call it?
