Re: "Yeahman" compilations?

So great to have access to so many highly-experienced DJs - thank you Jesse, and thanks for the forum :)

Re: "Yeahman" compilations?

Was more tricky to work out how to get a snippet recorded than it was to just share it:

Re: "Yeahman" compilations?

So one of these mystery albums isn't a Yeahman after all, but something rather more bonkers - apart from maybe 2 or 3 tracks I almost wish I hadn't spent the time rooting them out with Shazam: https://snag.gy/BXHlvn.jpg If anyone knows what 13 in this list would be, feel free to let me know! But man...

Re: "Yeahman" compilations?

That's fantastic, thank you!

I think I probably already own about half the tracks, but will sort out buying up the rest.

Thanks again!

[Answered] multiple tracks

So at some point I was clearly given CDs to rip at a time when I wasn't connected to the internet, as I have some very annoying unnamed files. Here and there I have come across this "Yeahman" album name, I think there were 3 of them. I have basically got all the tracks for what I think is ...

Re: Austin Local Band?? - Victrola

I've just been on a wild goose chase trying to find who did a version of Drop Me Off that I was (cough) given lately and was mislabelled as Ella Fitzgerald. It didn't sound like her and also sounded way too modern a recording! Anyway. I would also like to give my money for this eponymous Victrola CD...

Electro Swing DJ needed in Krakov, Poland, Dec 1st 2012

I'm not sure what the forum's feeling on electro swing is, but one of my lindy hop newbies in Bristol is from Poland and is keen to help expand the scene, I think she's in contact with Dragon Swing but not sure how much joy she's getting. Anyway, I got this message today: Hello Sara, i hope that you...

... these things are never simple, huh :P I just have a few song quotes at the bottom of my local dancers blog, one of which was from Wham! but it appears attributing it isn't as easy as thought. Hm! Eddie and Taps it is...! Hm: "Wham (Re - bop, Boom - Bam)," composed by Eddie Durham with ...

Thanks :)

Presumably Glenn wrote the lyrics, or would that have also been someone else?

J-h:n that's amazing thanks - hope you didn't waste too much time on that! I had a look too and it seems that Chrono Classic Ellington 1938 Volumes 2 and 3 start to strongly resemble this box set's track list, albeit it a slightly meandering order (almost as if they've been shuffled just enough not ...

Oh ace ace, so it's pretty much in order, then?

It's terrible packaging, no sleeve notes at all, and the pictures of the Duke on each mini CD-case is random in terms of his age, so doesn't hint at all to dates played.

Thank you so much, knew you lot would be able to clue me in!

A bumper crop of Duke Ellington

Hey there, I'm quite the newbie here! While I have a respectable enough swing collection to comfortably know well enough to DJ on the fly from, I can't pretend I have a really strong knowledge of swing as a whole. I'm certainly not done learning! Anyhow, my father has bought me a huge 10-CD set of D...
