I found that if there was not a wireless network that my laptop could connect to, the hiccup was the pause the system took to poll for a wireless network... Okay... I broke down...

So much for trying to save up for Lindy Exchanges... My new laptop should be coming in shortly... Dell Inspiron 1150... P4 2.8 GHz, 512 Mb memory, 40 GB HDD, DVD/CDRW combo drive, 15" screen... I just have to sit down and read through this thread to see the software/hardware combinations I need...
