I found that if there was not a wireless network that my laptop could connect to, the hiccup was the pause the system took to poll for a wireless network... Once I disabled my wireless card, the hiccup stopped... Then, the bar finally installed wireless, my laptop holds the connection without pollin...

Okay... I broke down...
So much for trying to save up for Lindy Exchanges... My new laptop should be coming in shortly... Dell Inspiron 1150... P4 2.8 GHz, 512 Mb memory, 40 GB HDD, DVD/CDRW combo drive, 15" screen... I just have to sit down and read through this thread to see the software/hardware combinations I need...
