Genres & Styles (who classifies some of this stuff)

I was looking on www.allmusic.com the other day at Mora's Modern Rhythmists. I was a little surprised to see them under Genres: Rock & Style: Alternative Pop/Rock, Retro Swing. IMHO I can’t see how you can classify Mora's Modern Rhythmists under Rock. Can anyone see any logic behind this? Brian

CD reviews. Gospel or useless

There are many places that you can find different CD reviews.
Often, I've bought an album, and a few months later, read a review on it. Some times I don't agree with the reviewer at all.
Do you find this, or if not, are reviews a big determination on you buying or not buying a CD.

I've used a CD cleaning kit on it, to clean the lens.
But it hasn't solved the problem yet.

CD-R’s. Can we make them more CD player friendly?

I use a Newmark duel CD player when I’m DJing. And I’ve sometimes found that some CD-R’s give it problems. Generally it’s when I put the CD in, and skipping through to the last few tracks on the CD. It has no problem with the first few tracks. The thing is, this can happen randomly and can work on a...

And can anyone tell be is Fletcher Henderson's "Hotter than 'ell" a small change on the same composition. I'm assuming that "Hotter than 'ell" was the original.

Glen Gray & the Casa Loma Orch.

Glen Gray & the Casa Loma Orch. is a band that I don't have much material of. I've been coming across them a few times now, and I really should get some of their albums.
What would you recommend? What are you favorite recordings from them?

It was on Paul Overton's must get CD list. It's not bad. I like his material once in a while. I think it is very easy to get board of him, if he is over played.
