firstly I'd do a search on this board as its been discussed a few times now and there's plenty of good information (read: I'm to lazy to search for you). also you could listen to episode 4 & 5 of the Hey Mr Jesse show (found on the yehoodi.com website). Jesse talks about a product called DC6. th...

winBPM....

hehehehe, I still prefer to do my BPM counting to semi-old fashioned way. I've recently gotten an upgrade to JRMC and am yet to test out the "analise" function.

I'll run it over something the will definitely be over 200bpm and see what sort of results I can get.

the BPM column/tag in JRMC is a calculated column that can be manual edited. If you chose to "analyse" your audio files with options for auto bpm etc IT WILL CHANGE THIS COLUMN/TAG.....I choose to use Custom1 or another custom field to store the BPM with the audio file. oh yes, tags are in...

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3.0 go there and post a question. I have only ever had 9,000(give or take a few) tracks. But logically the larger the database the longer it takes to search. My current work machine has 6,534 tracks and and if I type "joe williams" (for examp...

Hey Bob, I'm going to approach this from the line that a> the gig in question is a paid gig and b> from more of a provision of services rather than "what's fair". Firstly though, most of my DJing is done free of charge because a> I love it and b> I get benefits through other means. So back...

JR Media Center can do this bob. Also has built in functionality for playing multiple audio streams at the same time (cueing, playing etc).. One program that can do it all. I also use it to dump my music onto my ipod - which is handy when I want to listen to it on the car stereo rather than ripping...

I'm having create success with a line feed from my home amp to the laptop then using polderbits to do some cleaning and then doing a final clean on the fly with the external sound card. Am happy thus far with the quality and didn't have any complaints in Lismore. I will add though one final comment:...

Thanks Trev,

I agree with "breaking" the pattern from time to time. For me I tend to find myself riding the long wave on both sides. slow/medium up and slow/medium down : 5+ tracks either side of a peak.

Its good to hear what others are doing and how its working for them.

we (SDB) now use the Audigy 2 NX and we've been totally impressed with not only the sound quality increase but the nifty features it has on both the hardware and software side of things. Is has an audio cleaner specific for vinyl recording which is going to be handy. The only down side is I won't ha...

Riding the wave

Hey folks, This question is aimed at those of you out there that "ride the wave" with your sets. ie: start slow, work up and back down again. What, in your opinion, is an acceptable bpm jump - either up or down, when building the wave? do you go up in lots of 10bpm or some other approximat...
