I just finished organizing the DJs for the Vancouver Lindy Exchange. The head of the exchange made it known of some people he wanted to bring in, so I brought them in as per his request. I didn't ask people what they wanted. I simply put people in slots that I felt were good. I found that unless the...

If you want great deals, go to A&B Sound if you're ever in British Columbia. There's some amazing finds and some great deals. All new too. I got Luncefor Special for 10$ Canadian. I also got a great 2 Disc Artie Shaw set for 16$ Canadian. They have an online store too...check it out! Harrison

I get tired of a lot of that song that's played over and over again, seems like it's going on for 3 hours, and is just horrible....oh, I'm sorry, I'm talking about groove music in general. I'm pretty sick of it, it's overplayed, gimme good lindy hop music damn it!

I don't have any Barbara Morrison stuff myself but I have heard it and it's just not my taste of music, when I DJ, I always ask myself "would I dance to this?". If the answer is no then I won't play it, I like playing what I would like to dance to, because people can get a varrying of tast...

This is why I'm glad I live in Canada because just because they'd be allowed to do it in the U.S. does not mean they are allowed to do it in Canada because of the fact that it's two different countries and such. I don't download music illegaly anymroe really, but there IS the odd time I do a search ...

I originally started this thread by simply asking that DJs of a certain style play better "token" uptempo tunes. I was not embarking on a quest to change DJs. And here is why: Unless they are a complete and total sell out (and some DJs certainly are, as they seem to want to play whatever ...

Here in Victoria it's a bit weird. There are two Lindy Hop DJs, myself and Dave. We DJ our swing stuff constantly, while Dave has a different style then I do, we can do a good job of mixing stuff up when we DJ together because I usually play the OLD stuff (Or new stuff like Bill Elliot or Dean Mora)...

Good Jam Songs

Ok, so I would like to know what everyone out there think is a good jam song, what song makes everyone want to gather in a circle and bust out.

Also, what songs do people like to play to try and get jams started?

I think they worked on that scene for 2 days straight, doing the same stuff over and over, it wasn't easy but it got done. I heard this in an interview with Franky somewhere, I just can't find the clip of where he says it, but I believe when they were actually on the set it took two days. I'm thinki...

From what people have told me is that it was choreographed to Jumpin At The Woodside I believe, and then they overdubbed it.

Yeah...that's the same as the audio clip, I guess they just ripped it from the clip then, does anyone know of any good programs to rip sound from movie clips and then thus clean up the sound?
