Songs to steam the windows
Lately, I've been on a bit of a "steamy song" kick. You know, the songs that inspire dances that cause the temperature in the venue to rise about 25 degrees and the windows to steam up.
Below are some of the songs I have. I'm looking for additions, and would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Song - Musician - Album
"Silicone" - Mono - Formica Blues
"Slimcea Girl" - Mono - Formica Blues
"Landing" - Moby - We are All Made of Stars (probably the "hottest" one I have)
"Wicked Game" - Chris Isaak - Heart Shaped World
"Blood-Red Water" - Wolfgang Parker - Hep City Swing
"In Your Wildest Dreams" - Reverend Horton Heat - Holy Roller
"Kings of the Highway" - Chris Isaak - Heart Shaped World
"Nothing's Changed" - Chris Isaak - Heart Shaped World
"Life in Mono" - Mono - Formica Blues

I just bought a new CD called Coco de Mer. Nearly every track - and track two, especially - is one that would melt the windows.
Basically, it's a collection of opera arias that have modern backbeats. Very unusual, and quite steamy.

What about "Down Home Blues" by Gene Harris and Ernestine Anderson. It's on the Concord Best of Gene Harris 2 CD set, and other Ernestine Anderson albums I'm sure.

It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have more money. And I guess that's what I like about it. It's easy. Just sitting there, rocking back and forth, wanting that money.

I have it on Ernestine Anderson's "I Love Being Here With You" album. It's a great song and went over really well in Sacramento.yedancer wrote:What about "Down Home Blues" by Gene Harris and Ernestine Anderson. I've been listening to this CD today: Blossom Dearie
A couple of tracks are window steamers - Lover Man and Blossom's Blues "Ray Brown told me I was built for speed".

A couple of weeks ago I got the Peggy Lee "Fever" remix by Gabin. It's from the new Peggy Lee CD, Best of the Singles Collection.
I like this remix because I think it does more to enhance the sound than do other remixes, which simply lay down nuclear backbeats and obscure the singer. There's certainly a backbeat in this one, but for the most part, the singing is quite easy to hear. Also, I think this version may be able to counter (at least a little) the "overplayed" one. If you buy this, keep in mind that it's a tad over 4:00.
