22 by Basie. I use all of them. I also have about 18 Ella CDs, even though I burned them down to about 9. Lots of Duke but with many reapeting songs. I need to start burning them down to fit in one CD case.

You never have enough Basie, Duke and Ella right?

ferreal. i'm about to buy the 40-cd ellington set which would make my pre-1947 ellington stuff redundant but also add a lot more stuff, maybe 15 or 20 cds worth.

i stopped myself with the basie stuff, though, at about 10 or 12. guess i'm not as obsessed with basie.

i think all of billie holiday's stuff (barring her Verve output) fits onto fourteen CDs: 10 for columbia & friends, 2 for Commodore, 2 for Decca.

I'm guessing here because I'm at work, but I would have to say I have more Ella in my possession than anything else.

I've got over 30 Basie CD's.
Maybe Ella is next with 10 or so.

Ellington, but more because of availability of stuff worth getting a copy of than his being a favorite.

Something like 23+ Ella. I love most of her stuff, except some of her last.

105 Basie. 82 Ellington. Not including compilations from those original CDs that I have made for my personal use.

As I've written to you privately, I frankly wouldn't post the number of copied CDs you might own on a public bulletin board. If the music industry is truly looking for "examples" to make, searching through internet bulletin boards of DJs for admissions of how many CDs they have "stolen" would probably be the best place to find examples that will send the most effective message to some of the worst violators out there.

Don't shoot, but I have 170 Ellington discs. A lot of overlaps in material though. Then 51 Basie & 51 Ella.

It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have more money. And I guess that's what I like about it. It's easy. Just sitting there, rocking back and forth, wanting that money.
