My tagging system is very haphazard and I've taken to just shoving everything into the comment field (although I use the BPM and date fields for the appropriate info).
I tend to make peculiar keyword comments that I can punch into the search bar without having to do make a custom filter. For example, I can't use "blues" because there are thousands of songs with that in the title, so for blues dancing songs I simply tag them as "bluesy". High energy or jam circle songs I list as "nrg". There's also ECS and WCS, "slowdance", I have a few video game soundtracks tagged a "VG", etc.
