Does anybody know of a good pc program to edit music with? Something where I can change the pitch, cut and paste songs, etc.

If you're looking at a minimal budget I'd also suggest ProTools, which has a Free version, although it has limited platform availablility.

Based on recommendations from others I bought Cool Edit and have been very happy with it.

Of course, if you want the best go get ProTools. It's awsome, but the full version is way too expensive for us regular humans. Radio stations, producers and people like that use it.

But for us regular people they have a free version. It can ONLY handle 8 wav-files (or other sound formats) and 48 midi-files simultanely. And it only uses the computer's built in sound capabilities (then imagine what the pro version can do).
A warning though, the software has a very steep learning curve. Getting started is tough, but when you have gotten past that cooledit feels like a toy for children in comparison.

You can check it out at http://www.protools.com
