food songs?

Help a procrastinater? Next weekend two of my dance friends are getting married and I've been asked to provide music (in the form of a couple of mixed CDs not active DJing) for during dinner. They want every song to mention food or eating, though it doesn't need to be in the title. Drinking songs don't count. I've got a few picked out already, but am running out of time to go through my whole collection. Any ideas?

popsicle toes might not mention the kind of "eating" that you want at a wedding.

or maybe it does.

regardless, the song is emphatically not about food, of course.

Ron Bloom has a food compilation CD, I think. He should chime in about now.

I agree with Brenda that "Popsicle Toes" will be totally appropriate,
especially since it is a love song and the venue is a wedding.
And if you do want to go more risque, there are food songs on Risque Rhythms.

Yeah, they said risque is ok, since their parents likely wouldn't get it anyhow. (That's what they said at least)

Great suggestions so far. Here are a few that haven't been mentioned yet (take from a food-related mix I made a while back):

Cole Slaw - Jesse Stone
I Like Pie I Like Cake - The Four Clefs
Lemon Squeezing Daddy - The Sultans
Solid Potato Salad - Ella Mae Morse
Pork Chops And Mustard Greens - Ernie Andrews
You're My Dish - Fat's Waller

If I have some time later, I'll dig through my books for some more suggestions.

Of course, this song (and others that have been mentioned in this thread) fits into a subcategory, food songs that are really about sex.

Funny how many of the food songs are not really about food at all.

Actually I think the Spinach Song is about drugs. Weed in particular.

Chop Suey Chow Mein - Louis Prima & Keely Smith

C'est Si bon - Ann Margret
