I went to Amoeba over the weekend and the guy behind the counter was playing this CD over the PA system. I immediately bought it. He seemed bummed that I'd bought it because, I think, he had just put it on to listen for the first time and I'd only let one song play. He actually said "Are you going to buy this now or can I let it play while you shop?" Unfortunately I was leaving, so ...

Anyway, the album is mostly solo piano and I haven't listened to it very intently yet, but it is really good blues.

Jimmy Yancey is one of my favorites. Whenever I dj I a blues room I always paly at least one of his songs.
