Not sure how many are not visiting the Yahoo Group, so I re-posted this here. 8)

I have not heard much buzz about this musician, but he has been a
staple in my collection for years, so I thought I would mention him.

Amongst his 30-40 albums, he also has two or three Christmas CDs out
that contain small-group, Groove-Swing/Soul-Blues music that I would
play OUTSIDE of the Holiday season. "Cool Christmas Blues" is one
of the best Christmas Lindy Hop CDs I have heard. It includes "the
umpteenth remake" of his seminal Christmas song "Merry Christmas
Baby." It is on Rounder Records and available off Barnes & Noble and
others, as well as through the "Buy It" button-link off Charles
Brown's Allumsic.com page.

He is not the Peanuts character. He is an old-timer Blues pianoman
whose first hit, "Driftin Blues" in 1945 ranked him among Louis
Jordan, Lavergne Baker, and other pop Blues artists. In his older
age, he mellowed out but kept recording to an average following.
Really great stuff. 8)
