Joe Venuti - Tap Room Blues [1933]
The Little Ramblers - Tap Room Special [1935]
Adrian Rollini - Tap Room Swing [1937]
http://www.redhotjazz.com/adrianstrg.html

"The Tap Room was located in the Hotel President at 234 West 48th Street in New York City. Adrian Rollini reportedly managed the club inside of the hotel for a short while as well as leading the orchestra."

Winner!

Another place to check is various discographies of different bands. I am going to check Bob Crpsby right now.

"Swingin' at the Sugar Bowl" - about a fictitious ice-cream parlor or something, so doesn't qualify

"The Mark Hop" - recorded at Mark Hopkins Hotel!

Couldn't resist, sorry...

We were scoping out Bob Crosby at the same time. I always thought that the Sugar Bowl was a room in a hotel where bands played...unless they played at the actual Sugar Bowl. But you're right about it being fictitious. Here's a restaurant in Covina, CA grabbing a free ride on the name. At least they have some sexy pics of a vintage dressed girl lolling all over the soda shop. http://www.covinasugarbowl.com/

"The Mark Hop" is, I assume, a play on words for the Mark Hopkins hotel in SF.

I really should have listed the titles first rather than the artists...or listed both.

Yes, the Brittwood was a jazz club in Harlem.

Don't miss the Onyx songs I posted above.

Thx. Now that you say it, I think there was a photo in the famous HARLEM 3 LP set on Columbia. Great music and an incredible 12 x 12 'booklet' inside.

I will get to those Onxi later. Thx!
