Harlem Renaissance Jazz Orchestra

#1 Post by djstarr » Tue Jun 17, 2003 12:51 pm

I really dug them Friday night --- here's a link to the band if anyone is interested - http://www.geocities.com/hroband/

(note - I had originally posted for help on how to find them, but google works a lot better once you spell Renaissance correctly  )

No, I think they are more of a Pick up working orchestra, like most the ones here in LA.

Thanks Peter --- I did find a link (see above) - they have two songs available to download, and I have an email into them for further info.

They are a smoking big band, one of my favorites around today. I loved their performance on Friday night at HJDF. If you ever get a chance, catch them at Luci's up in Harlem on a Monday night. Amazing! I am SO waiting for a "HRO Live At Luci's" CD to be released some day.

yeah, now I understand why there was a big choice between Luci's and The Cotton Club on Monday's......definitely will have to plan to check them out again.
