what, we don't have a thread yet?

his birthday is coming up, so let's have some favourites. some of mine, all from the "the genius of the electric guitar" set (which is excellent and you should go buy right now):

till tom special (1939)
rose room (1939)
flying home (1939)
seven come eleven (1939)
ac/dc current (1939)
good enough to keep (airmail special) (1940)
boy meets goy (grand slam) (1940)
untitled tune (1940)
solo flight (1941)

i also recently got the jsp "first master of the electric guitar" set that (i think) jonathan recommended in another thread here, but i haven't gone through it carefully yet. at first listen, it's fine for listening, but nothing i feel i could play at my regular gig.

ps I love this stuff for balboa and DJ it for balboa all the time
pss Campus Five do some great versions of this stuff if you want the clean audio. (stuff being the Benny Goodman small group with CC on guitar)

Everything he recorded is so yummy. Six Appeal is probably my favorite. Swing to Bop is one I love that I don't play because of length.

Genius is also one of the new Sony additions to emusic, the best addition I've found so far.
