I think you mean iTunes 6. They went from version 4 to 6 in a hurry, but I'm sure there will be at least a few weeks more before verison 7 arrives! :P With iTunes, some track information is stored within the MP3 file's ID3 tag, and Non-ID3 tag data about an MP3 track is stored by iTunes itself and ...

BPM tags
Hello everyone, I have heard whispers I may be gifted with an iPod, so I was looking into iTunes and saw the BPM tag. Almost all of my swing music is commented in the title tag for bpm, and also in the ID3tag "comment". I have tried editing the BPM tags in iTunes, but it always discards th...

did you get the two versions of winamp to share one library? or do you ahve two libraries open too? I'd love to do that, but using two libraries just drives me nuts. I want to be able to drag from my library to either player, so I don't have to find songs twice, but so far I haven't been able to se...

Two installs of winamp... 5.03
Hey folks, I've got my laptop outfitted with two seperate installs of winamp for DJ'ing. One uses classic skin and the other modern. The modern skin is my external output, the classic is preview. It works quite well, once I realized they were sharing the media library. Now every time I want to add m...

SB MP3+
I have been looking at the Audigy 2 NX for my laptop it's about $130 and is very small. I have also wondered if the Sound Blaster MP3+ which is only $40 would work with the DJ software like BPM Studio. I know the Audigy and Extigy do. The Audigy and Extigy are overkill to me as for as features for ...

Laptop DJ's - tools to keep files in sync?
Hello folks, I was wondering what file tools everyone are using to keep copies of thier swing music in sync? I have a server with plenty of space on it, while my hand-me-down DJ laptop only has 6gb of internal disk. It now has 2 external 6GB disks too, so I am using http://www.superflexible.com to k...

Re: A Larry Levan of swing?
*snip!* Is there such a swing DJ? While swing dancing, have you experienced moments like those? Would you like to be a swing DJ like that? I have had moments like that, durring swing/jump blues dancing. A moment that is almost out-of-time. All that exists is you, your partner and the band. The peop...

I've had that happen a couple times, I can't rip a song. I try cleaning the disk, but it doesn't work. It plays fine on a stereo, probably because of some error correction. But why the computer can't be smart enough to either skip, interpolate or copy the errors instead of getting hung up on them, ...

Checkout this case mofication. This was built by a friend of mine. It looks like perhapps a good solution if you need massive storage without a laptop & external disks. Then you can put almost anything you want inside it.

*snip* We have another venue which is maybe 70% beginner, 30% int/adv. I think it's quite a challenge to DJ there right now since I'd like to play beginner friendly stuff and not bore the more experienced dancers - it's tough. It's also fun to throw in a couple of barn-burners to showcase the advan...
