Re: Swing You Sinners - NOT Sing You Sinners - in 1930 carto

At least one of their cartoons was scored by Lou Fleischer, but I find it hard to believe that the person who scored "Hot Dog" (mediocre at best, until the last minute) could have been the lead composer or band leader for "Swing You Sinners", released 6 months later.

music analysis: "Frisco Fog" - what makes it so go

Jimmy Lunceford's Frisco Fog is freaking fantastic. (Actually, I think 1:23-2:05 is pretty bad. But besides that, it's freaking fantastic.) What makes it so?

"You Shook Me All Night Long" - swing version

At Followlogie, a swing event in Quebec City, I heard a somewhat swinging version - medium or slower-than-medium tempo.
I checked different versions on emusic.com but can't find the one.
I should have asked the DJ.
Do you know of a version that gets played at swing dances?

Thanks,
Jonathon,
Toronto
