My first time trying to DJ a balboa dance ("I get to play my favorite music and no one will complain about the tempo? Sure I'll do it--thanks!") I did have one big dud from the repertoire of lindy hits. There were still some happy people out on the floor, but not many. I can't remember qui...

Someone still has to bring a thing capable of storing music in it.

And has to take the time to get it plugged in & working properly.

That and even some of the social dancing songs from those same nights. I mean, of course, your band's gotta be down with it... ...but it's a lot of effort for a band to lug sound recording equipment and set it up in addition to all their other stuff. I know the " Hot Swing Combo " in the T...

That or they're just not quite the sound I'm looking for, or they just darned sing more times per 10 songs than I'm used to in my old recordings!! (It's not like I'm great at finding tracks w/ vocals w/ the sound I'm looking for in my old stuff that I want to play, either. It's a perpetual challenge...

Oh, that's a toughie. A couple of my Minnesota favorites can be heard live but don't really have DJing-ready recordings. Sorry. :-(

But here's the Southside Aces link:

Since the band members are mostly alive, I thought it might be fun to show that clip to everyone apparently in the band whom I could reach (all but 3). :-) It took a while, but hopefully they'll get to enjoy what they inspired.

Finally, it seems like there might be something those of us outside the U.K. who don't have an iPhone (BlackBerry, etc.) can use.
Tunatic

Probably light years behind, but hey, at least it's a start.

True, but I'd really wonder where I stuck a sound card if I don't have a matching slot on my computer!

Okay. Guess I'll go w/ Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro or Craigslist for a used Creative Sound Blaster MP3+ (people are doing well selling those...same price as they used to retail, in many cities!) Thanks!

So, is PCMCIA/ExpressCard a better way to get data to a device than USB or something? (I'm trying to figure out why Echo designed for those but not for USB.)

Just tried a re-install--that cleared out the library, but the buttons are still inaccessible. :-(

Unrelated P.S: Bah! Just noticed on a gig last night that it doesn't play FLACs!

Windows sound scheme is already off. Actually, when I was playing through the internal soundcard & built-in speakers, I was pretty sure it was coming through the speakers. With some equalizer software that was probably more powerful enabled, the bad noises happened whether I was playing sound or...

No matter which sound card I use (internal or Turtle Beach Micro), whenever I try to equalize the sound that's playing, I get some sort of click click click click click click click click -- sometimes it sounds a bit like something's "looping," but not always. When it sounds like something'...

I don't get why "Clear List," "+ Dir," "+ File," "- File," "M - A," and "M - B" buttons are all grayed out & unclickable in BPM studio for me. And why I can't delete anything out of the playlist (although I can drag stuff into it from o...

I tried it before MediaMonkey and almost used it instead. There was one feature I didn't quite like, though now I can't remember what it was. Or maybe it was that I couldn't see if I liked it enough because I couldn't get a sense of the full version as easily. It was 3 years ago or more. You know wh...
